Hello kinksters - It might be the end of summer, but Leather season is just starting to kick off in the Bay Area, as many of us turn our minds toward the Folsom Street Fair coming up the last Sunday in September. We’re marking our calendars for LeatherWalk 2025, the annual kick-off of leather week. This year’s LeatherWalk is calling for a wide range of kinksters to show up and take pride in their leather, kinky & queer histories and futures in San Francisco, and you’ll be hearing a lot more about them here in the weeks to come. Wicked Grounds is proud to be part of the Saturday, August 9th Camp Unity: Fireside Edition party at Stopgap, along with Dark Odyssey, AfterDark Events, Society of Janus, Nocturnal Events, and more. Wicked Grounds will present a demo and offer an Ask Us Anything coaching booth. Fun! Also that weekend in San Francisco, longtime friends of the Grounds are presenting the first-ever Mr. TMK Leather contest for transmasc kinksters. They’ll have a meet & greet at the Eagle Saturday, August 9th ahead of the contest at the Powerhouse Sunday, August 10th. If you think it’s cool to have this contest, you can also help support their efforts here. And: The San Francisco Fetish Flea is coming up on Sunday, August 10th! Yesterday was a day for big thoughts, semi-procrastination, and little epiphanies. I started the day at the computer getting bogged down in minutiae and Mercury Retrograde projects like trying to relaunch a scholarship fundraiser that went sideways four months ago. At one point, I looked up and thought "where has the day gone?" Then I realized it was only 10am. I got in the car. I thought I knew where I was going. I did not. Someone asked me in a comment on a recent post our Facebook group how the Wicked Grounds Scholarship Fund is going. The answer is honestly not great. We last shook the trees four months ago, just as this year's chaos of layoffs and tariffs and uncertainty was hitting people's pocketbooks and psyches. Our drive bombed so badly after one week that I just quietly put it to bed. We ARE still offering scholarships, but we've stopped doing it no-questions-asked for the time being. We've started...
