A member just asked us for an update on the state of the scholarship fund

Someone asked me in a comment on a recent post our Facebook group how the Wicked Grounds Scholarship Fund is going. The answer is honestly not great.

We last shook the trees four months ago, just as this year's chaos of layoffs and tariffs and uncertainty was hitting people's pocketbooks and psyches. Our drive bombed so badly after one week that I just quietly put it to bed.

We ARE still offering scholarships, but we've stopped doing it no-questions-asked for the time being. We've started limiting recipients to one class per month and started limiting the ratio of scholarship to paid seats for each class. We're doing what we can to keep the program going within the limits of our ongoing Patreon scholarship supporters and what we can offer out of pocket.

The fact that the question was asked made me think that it might be time to try again.

Here is the link to our Scholarship Fundraiser GoFundMe, just as I left it in March.

And we continue to have options to make a regular monthly donation through our Patreon -- just choose any of the Scholarship options to have your full contribution go directly to the fund.

If you're in a position now that you'd like to support Wicked Grounds' ongoing programming and accessibility, your support would make a huge difference. If not, please take care of yourself. You have to put on your own oxygen mask before helping others!

The goal amount as it's set now is what we would need to get the scholarship fund back from being underwater -- we gave more than we had for a few months before making the changes I mentioned above. If we are able to exceed that, we'll begin rebuilding for the future.

Very warm regards,

Mir on behalf of the Wicked Grounds team
