Howdy kinksters - Dan Savage is not a perfect commentator, but he had one of the best descriptions of keeping balance in challenging political times that I’ve ever read. He said: “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for. It didn’t look like we were going to win then and we did. It doesn’t feel like we’re going to win now but we could. Keep fighting, keep dancing.” I’ll add: “Keep playing.” That’s been my mantra for most of the last year, to be honest. I find it encouraging that kinksters keep making play central to their lives, even in some very weird times. Last fall, our local kink conference have record attendance and epically hot play. Let’s keep that going! Our erotic life force is absolutely critical to everything else we do, and everything we can do. So, we keep going. And, the world of roses needs bread, too. Yesterday in my personal FetLife I encouraged a little action that I’ll also bring here: Feeling hopeless? Want to do something? Just love Prince?
